Long renowned for being one of the high places of Arts and Letters, the Pont Royal Hotel***** revives its tradition and revives the legend of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Its walls reveal the reflection of an era marked by the figures of Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, the antics of the Hussards dear to Antoine Blondin, the jazzy impulses of Boris Vian's band. André Malraux had made the cocktail bar - one of the first in Paris - his home base between two trips... Jacques Prévert, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, François Mauriac, Raymond Queneau... it is difficult to name all the writers who have frequented this place.
By awarding this prize with a strong character, the Pont Royal Hotel ***** wished to revive this spirit and revive this prestigious literary past.
